Split firewood will cure enough to burn hot in six to eight months. If you cut hardwood in the late fall through winter, it will dry faster because it has a lower moisture content
in the dormant season to prevent freezing temps from killing the tree. Birch, Beech, and fruit tree wood has a higher oil content, and will dry more slowly. One year is optimal, especially if you don't split the larger sticks. White Oak is the fastest dryind hardwood in the south east.

That's about it one good dry season.Depend's alot on type of wood and condition at cutdown.Green,dry so and so on.I'd say on the avarage one year.
