Is there some way i can watch TV on my laptop or use it as a display for my xbox 360?

I'd like to be able to watch tv from my laptop and play my xbox games without the need of buying another TV.

You will need a TV card for your Laptop. Since Laptops can't have a standard TV card built into it, you need an external USB card.
The link below leads you to Hauppauge, manufacturer of such USB TV Sticks.

You plug your Xbox AV cable into it, however you will only get standard TV resolution this way. Not the Xbox's full HD resolution.
