When I start my car up my oil guage does not work and I was told that the oil sending unit could be messed up in it. If I change the oil sending unit will that improve the performance as well as fix the oil pressure guage??

If you decide to use an after market oil gauge, buy yourself some copper tubing and use it instead of the plastic tubing it comes with. The copper won't melt if it accidently touches something too hot and won't become brittle and crack, which can happen under the dash board causing you to end up with an awful oily mess in your car.

No man it does nothing for performance!!! Check the wire going to the oil sending unit sometimes they come off . It should fix your guage problem if you do have to change OSU or the wire fell off you hope if it is not that.. Let the fun begin checking everything else!!

it might fix the gauge problem. there are a couple different things that could be wrong. but it will not affect your your performance. id recomend hooking up a real oil pressure gauge not the stock one. the stock gauges just show good or bad depending if they are reaching the exact pressure if its one psi below stock set pressure it will show bad. but a oil sending unit should only cost 7-10 dollars and its a 5 minute change. but id recommend getting a real gauge

this has no bearing on performance improvement, But with out this Gage in operation your chancing an oil pressure drop, if it should ever go below 30 psi stop the engine serious damage could result very quickly.
