It kept two nations that should have been friends, enemies for over 50 years. It caused the fall of Russia as a power @ a time when they could have remained strong if only they could have accepted the fact that we never had any plans of invading. We wanted no more war. During the war we thought you were our Allies, only to find that you were our adversary. That day when our armies met for the first time & we hugged, shook hands & look to you as our friends, only to find that you were, but your country was not! All of the wasted years of the cold war were totally uncalled for, we didn't want anything from your country but friendship & instead we got hate. How very sad. Now Putin is trying to start the hatred again! Don't let him succeed!

It makes one wonder if anything we heard up until the end of the Soviet system was true. Between KGB, CIA, MI6 and the rest of the intelligence agencies working to spin things, plus of course the governments of all of these countries, who knows what was real?

Obviously the Soviets were more paranoid and more in a bubble, but still...

I told them that over a yr ago. I dont know if they believed me. Is the CIA somehow different than the KGB ?? What do they do ?
