my best friend recently acused me of telling her secret to others, basically she broke up with her boyfriend, i then told one of our mutual friend about it (the fact they broke up), i didn't see it was a 'secret'', please tell me if what i did was wrong?

To me you did nothing wrong, but in her eyes you was telling her business and by the two of you being friends she feels if you told that then you have told other things shared with you as well. Some friends are like that being that if you told another friend then she is not the only friend and they envy you or that as well.

Maybe she was planning to get back together w/ her boyfriend, and didn't want anyone to know they broke up, but I don't think you did anything wrong. She'll get over it sooner or later, and if she doesn't, then maybe she's not as great a friend as she could be?

Well, it would eventually come out anyway. But maybe your best friend expected you to be a little more tight-lipped about it for a little longer until the "buzz" died down. Just tell her you blew it and will be more careful in the future.

It was only a secret is she asked you not to tell anyone else. If she never hinted that she didn't want anyone to know then I don't think you did anything wrong.

Maybe she was worried her friend would try to hook up with her ex, that is the only reason I could think she would be mad. I don't really think you broke her trust, but if she thinks you did, then you should ask her why. Talk to her.

You did nothing wrong, people would know sooner, or later. she is just embarrassed, people would know. Sometimes people want to blame other for everything. Don't worry your self about this, she will get over it, just say to her, that you are sorry, and that you only told, who ever it was.

Yes you did. You shouldn't have said anything at all. They might have split up but it wasn't your place to say anything. You should explain to them you didn't see the big deal because of the split but whatever you do be sincere.

If she asked you not to say anything, then you broke a confidence . I would have let her tell about it to others, If she wanted them to know .
