The Grammy's are not live in all time zones. They are live in the Eastern, Central, and Mountain Time Zones, but they are on a three hour tape delay on the west coast in the Pacific Time Zone.
Over 50 million people have to wait at least 3 hours to watch them. The show will actually be over before it actually starts in the Pacific Time Zone.

The Grammy's are all live. But because of the different time zones they do all start at different times. The East Coast will know the winner's before the West Coast does.

Live for the east coast viewers, but three hours delay for the west coast viewers, imagine if the show start LIVE at 8:00 PM west coast time, the time at east coast would be 11:00 PM already.
