hello,
I am needing the lyrics to a song that a gentleman that went to our church sung. It was about Barrabas and his being set free and not having to hang on the cross because Jesus took his place. It had a very somber tone to it. It started out..My name is Barrabas.. any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

FOR ME

See him hanging on the tree,
Suffering there why should it be
That he must die while I go free,
He took my place on Calvary.

“Give us Barrabas,” was the cry,
So this Jesus had to die.
I’ll never know the reason why
He was willing to die for me.

Jesus bore the sin of man
Became the sacrificial lamb
Though he was the Great “I Am”
He humbled himself for me.

As the blood flowed from his side
“It is finished!” he cried.
Then Jesus died
To pay my debt for eternally.

What a price he had to pay
As he bore my sin that day
The father turned his face away
And Jesus died, alone for me.
For me.

This one was the only one I found. Good Luck!!

I only know about that one guy who's name I can't remember now - has a lyric that goes, "GP are ya with me!". I think that stands for Gods Property. Kirk Franklin, maybe? If you are interested in finding good gospel music, maybe you would like to subscribe to XM or Sirius. I don't know much about Sirius, but XM has at least three gospel music stations on it. Amy Grant sings good Christian music as well, so does a girl named Tammy Gundin, whom I've actually seen and met. But I don't know if those artists are considered gospel singers.
