it is a hotpoint washer. it is twelve years old and I don't want to spend any money on it. If anyone knows how much it holds and where to put it in I would appreciate it.

Unless you have torn the transmition apart and have rebuilt it and put new seals and gaskets in you will not correct anything simply by putting oil into it.

You would be better of by replacing the entire transmition or buy a new washer.

I had no clue what to answer on this one so I asked my wife... she said to put clothes washer transmission fluid in it... I am guessing this is readily available at your clothes washing transmission oil supplier.
