In 1979 my Grandmother's oil burning furnace exploded and destroyed her mobile home.?

Both the furnace and the mobile home were brand new, what could have caused it to happen?

I would check to see that there was not any gasoline in the fuel tank

Obviously, she lived in a southern US state and it was only a matter of time before either a tornado or a leak (leading to a huge fireball lighting up the evening sky) would destroy her mobile home. I am so sorry for her loss.

probably a spark or a gas leak......... try ona those
