I think it was a cunning plan to write the show and cast Rowan Atkinson in the role of Edmond Blackadder and can be nothing but a classic as it ran for four series and was inventively reincarnated every time!

Classic. I always liked BlackAdder, especially series Two and Four, although Three had it's moments particularly the episode with the superstitious actors.

Absoloute classic mate... my favorite has to be black adder the third...
brittish comedy all the way, we have a more inteligent sense of humour than our simian cousins (Americans)

I liked Blackadder 1 best as the settings were more expensive, and Baldrick was actually more intelligent than Blackadder.
