I get this too - what really helps is the Pill. It evens out your hormones and really reduces all the menstrual symptoms (cramps, soreness, breast tenderness, headaches, etc.)

Oh yeah it is very normal. Since your body is going through it's whole hormonal thing, it's letting you know, period time. About 7 days before my period comes on my back hurts, stomach hurts, legs and head as well as bloating. But then once your period comes on the aches and pains go away. Most women experience this before their periods, and midol or advil works. Also try exercising or stretching and hot baths when you start feeling these pains or even before. It helps to relax your muscles and the baths can get rid of your mood swings if you have any. Good luck with them and hope the pains start to go away!!

I know my back and breast can get sore just before my period. Muscle cramps in general can be reduced by taking an anti-inflammatory like Advil. Also, make sure you're drinking enough water...dehydration can cause muscle cramps too.

Its hormones... ask your doctor if BC can help relieve the pain.
