if you broke it, you probly wouldnt be able to walk at all. It sounds to me like you may have torn some tendons. Not much you can do for that. It is pretty painful though. My brother jumped off the back of a moving car once on a dare, (-brain fart i guess) and he tore the tendons in his knee. It hurt him off and on from then on. Your doctor may recomend some physical therapy. Hope you feel better.

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.
So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.
Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.
A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.
Heal your ankle fully & fast?

OK.
first...
you start by not panicing...
then you stay off of it as much as possible.
Chances are you just popped it out of place, there could also be a sprain.
They dont re break anything, they just put splints, pins, and plates in it to put it in the right place, then they go back to the right place inside your leg. If you do have surgery you will have to stay the night. In most cases it is 3 days tops.
Sometimes they have you stay a day before and after, to make sure you are stable.

Put ice on it, (leave it on for 20 minutes, then off for 20) elevate your leg on a pillow to keep it from swelling, Stay off of it until you get to the doctor, soon I hope.
I've had lots of fractures, never heard anything except once in my foot.... could have been a tendon cracking, too. Wait and see what the doc says, good luck, STAY OFF THAT FOOT! :)
(That's the mom in me yelling at you!! LOL)

how they break an ankle when it grows wrong is they first take x-rays to find out if it has grown wrong and then either put you to sleep or numb your ankle and break it again. they put a cast on it and you get to go home after some more tests.no surgery involved unless they have to remove bone particles or position the bones.

You're kind of young so be sure and check with mom if she thinks that glucosimine and chondroitine would be of any help. It's worked wounders for a bunch of people that I know.
