Why are government officials on the boards of meat packing companies and why do former pharmaceutical businessmen and women head the FDA? Why is the USDA working for meat packing companies,
Why doesn't anyone care about conflict of interest in government and doesn't the fact that corporations and government are intertwined scare anyone?

You've got an excellent point. It seems no one cares with Exxon floating the Condelesa Rice (the oil supertanker) around the world and us going to war for Israel and Oil. Its clear how this country works and you could go on and on about liberals and conservatives dem/rep but the truth is that these same things occur whoever gets elected. The special interests and lobbyists control our government. With deals like hey you can be on the board of directors for this or that company and then your financial future is dependent on them.

because they're the ones making sure that the food and drugs (prescription) are safe for Americans. I mean, why wouldn't they choose meat packing plants and pharmaceutical companies? they obviously know the most about Food and DRUGS. The USDA isn't working for the meat packing companies. without them, there wouldn't be any regulations and meat packing companies could be shipping infected meats to various places.

It has been that way for several hundred years since the church was booted out of government.

There are always going to be conflicts of interest in government.

P.S. The church was a conflict of interest too.

Do You trust the opinions of those who are ignorant of the ways and means by which an industry is run, or do You utilize the expertise of the established experts? Have You ever heard of the term 'steering committee'?

If you were in business cartel, how would you like unlicensed freebooters moving in with products not safety tested and not taxed and not going through the pharmacy shopfronts?

I know this question.Just one more toke and I won't need a Dr. or even want to eat meat.I could vote for a cow and get better representation.
