What are some good ways to raise money to go camp in 6 months?

I have been attending this drama camp in New York for two years now and this summer of 07 was going to be my third, but my parents can't pay for both vacation and my camp, so I've decided maybe I should raise the money myself. It's February and camp starts in August and admissions end in July, so that's 5 months to raise about $6, 000 dollars - and I have ABSOLUTELY SO IDEA HOW TO RAISE THAT MUCH! Any suggestions???

if you have the time look into being a personal assistant to those high income people who could use some one to do errands for them. Be up front with your time so not to be taken advantage of. Consider your time and fair for getting around. Also tell them what you are doing it. I would imagine some would find that amicable that you are working towards a goal and would pay you well. Selling your services is easy have references and make a some inexpensive business cards so that in case they need to think about it.

That is a lot of money for a short time frame. I would think your best bet is to hit in several different directions. First, a mass email to everyone you and your family know, that tells what you are doing and asks for donations. Also, ask them to pass it along to everyone they know. I would gladly give if this came from someone I knew personally, and the kids had the maturity to try to do it themselves! Second, do the product selling thing.
