Do you think they would let me go?

I used to go to an elementary school from Pre-k to 5th grade and I had alot of friends there. I havent seen any of the people from my elementary school in over a year now (including my best friend that I met in Kinder) or talked to them because I went and still am at a different middle school and dont intend on going there. And today my cousin told me I should go to a dance at my old elementary school so that I can see all my old friends, but I cant go because its a school night, they give me alot of homework at my middle school and my parents if I asked them would not let me go because I got detencion on Monday for being late to school on Friday. I realy want to see my old friends and am thinking that I could take my 2 new best friends if I go to the dance, even tho my parents are very strict they could let me go. Do you think I convince my parents to let me go with my cousin to the dance and see my old friends?

Talk to your parents, tell them how important it is for you to see your old friends. It's a school dance.

be home when you say you will be, and tell them you will take 2 extra days grounding after the dance in exchange!!!

talk to them, be honest, you don't have to bring your cousin's into it, just talk. parents listen.

Keep an open mind.
you are not going to sneak off, and you are offering to have them restrict you for 2 extra days to do this one thing!
they will realize that you are serious, and this is important.

ask them to go to the dance, drive you and stay if they want!!
