Go to a local nursery supplier and get one of those things orchards use. They work off of propane and produce a gunshot sound. They have a timer to set. You set it to go off when ever you want.

Here in Texas, people shot a crow and hang it up in a place where they don't want the crows to come too (like pecan groves). Crows are smart and know what it means and avoid that spot. It sounds inhumane but my father-in-law says that it works. He could care less about offending someone else.

Buy a pulse sprinkler that goes on when the sensor views motion in it's detector, it only shoots water a few times each time it senses motion. Or you could try an imitation owl that head moves in the slightest wind. Birds are owls dinner if there are no rodents around.

I prefer to string very fine fillament wire in the trees they roost in. Then connect the wire to a solar powered pulsating electric fence controller with the setting turned up to "cow killer" intensity.
When they land on it, they die, the current is simply too much for them. And it's about twice as much entertainment on a cool evening on the back porch as the bug zapper is in the summertime. Enjoy! It's much quieter than a shotgun.

The legal way would be to just simply throw a handful of pebbles... the "otherwise" would be to get a bb rifle and shoot them off by just injuring them.
