What Do Other Countries Think About Americans? Good? Bad? Both? Why?

I'm an American but I lived in Northern Ireland for about 4 months, as well as visit the UK at least once a year. A few attitudes I got were they didn't care if you were American. If you were though, they asked you plenty of questions. Most of America is portrayed to them through movies and TV, so their views of our day to day life are distorted. Also, at least the people I met, thought everyone liked George Bush. Yeah, right. Thats pretty much it. Above all they were interested to know what it was like.

When I went to France, I was told that Americans tend to be the friendliest and the Vietnamese like Americans, just hate Bush. Bill Clinton is like a rock star down there.

I have heard many views about America from people living in other countries;
A) We are spoiled and have way too many material pocessions.
B) We have a crazy government that attacks other countries.
C) We are world wide piece keepers.
D) We are cool and have tons of freedom, they wish they could come here.

It really depends on where you are and who you talk to.
