I'm putting a gen 1 350 w/carb in a '95 Camaro that had a bad v6. I am also tearing out the OBD and any other related electronic junk. I just wondered if I could get a kit that would make the trans work without the OBD, or do I need to sell it and buy a TH700?

4L60e translates as follows; four speed, longitudinal mount, sixty series, electronic control shift. Thus you will need E.C.U. to use this tranny, O.B.D. stands for on-board-diagnostics, so this has little to do with tranny, although it is part of the E.C.U.(engine control unit, or the computer). What you need is a 4L60 unit, or a turbo200, turbo700, for the overdrive option, or a turbo400/turbo350. for a three speed unit. I hope this helps.

Get a matching engine and trans, if your tearing out all the electronics, make sure to install a new wiring harness set up for the car with out the computerized engine or you'll have more trouble than thswap is worth.

Sell it buy another one. More hassle to try and use that tranny. A 350Hydromatic with a 3in tail end output shaft will work much better
