So that's your excuse for talking to this girl? Pretty stupid reason! Who cares if she's a cancer survivor! Start putting some of your effort into your marriage rather than this other woman. KNOCK IT OFF! It's a no brainer!!!!!!!

just ask yourself if your wife had made contact with some old sweetie would YOU be okay with that?

I dont blame your wife for wanting this to end.
I would too.
Have you ever heard of something called EMOTIONAL infidelity?
This is what you are doing!
would you let those emails be read by your wife?
If so then why not ask this woman if she would mind coming over for dinner with the three of you?
Doubt it would happen because this is not what the new 'friend' wants.
IF you are a heart attack candidate, you really should lay off. The new honey wont be there to care for you, I PROMISE YOU THAT!!!!!!!!
Bet you wife will, that is if you break it off with this bimbo

You & your wife need to sit down & really have a heart-to-heart talk. She may be jealous or think that even after 42 years of not seeing her, feelings could come back & things could be rekindled.

Ask yourself this...what would you do if your wife made contact with her high school sweetheart after 42 yrs? ... How would you react?

KNOCK IT OFF. How would you feel if she were sitting on the phone and emailing her old sweetheart? I think it just makes you feel good to talk to your old girlfriend and you are looking for excuses to start something up again. First its only on the phone and email and the next thing is "meeting" her somewhere "just to talk". If your wife doesn't like it stop.

This is funny/sad to me--- I AM that woman whose old bf contacted her--- and the same thing happened! His wife went ballistic and put him through hell over it.
We live a continent and an ocean apart-- are both 60 years old-- and were sweethearts 44 years ago.
Its kind of sad, because it gave both of us a lift to reconnect with an old friend... and by our age, a lot has happened to all of us. Some of our friends are passing on, making those who are left more valuable than ever.
I think it is very sad and very selfish of your wife, his wife and anyone else who looks at their spouse as their possession. And yes, I am able to walk my talk. I have no objection at all to my husband emailing his old gf and even having lunch with her--- without me!
What should you do? Oh boy--- that's a can of worms. that's up to you, but I personally feel I have earned my freedom. I choose not to deliberately hurt anyone, but if they choose to get hurt over my having a friendship or loving someone in addition to them, then that is their problem not mine. I'm not leaving them; I'm not having an affair (ludicrous thought!), I am simply loving an old dear friend.
Jealousy is an ugly emotion. Were I you, I'd tell her to get over it.

My boyfriend, who is much older than I am, has been with me for around 2 years and recently made contact with his old high school sweetheart.
More than anything it just hurt my feelings. If you love her why would you want to cause her discomfort. She is your wife. Stand by her and show respect for her. If it makes her uncomfortable have some respect and quit it!

Which one of these women means more to you? If your wife is more important to you, why would you risk what you have with her for this other woman?
