Could it be that by dropping my computer on the rug from about a foot high that I did something so that the computer keeps telling me I have no audio devices installed? I've spent about 10 hours trying to rectify the problem....reinstalling the sound drivers, going into control panel, downloading codec pkgs., installing updates etc. etc. and nothing works. Also, the wireless now disconnects every time the computer goes to sleep.

Could be you simply knocked something loose inside, or unplugged a connector.

If you trust someone to open it up. My girlfriend works on laptops, and it takes her about 30 minutes to check inside and put it back together. Might be easy.

Try headphone jack?

Try a USB sound card to get sound. They work fine when the sound cards fail.

The wireless is one of your settings on sleep/suspend.
