Mine is on the side wall next to the door. Beside the window, really. It's a replica of a 1900's style, with real broomstraw and nailed braiding.
Witches sometimes call them 'besoms', and they are a tool, amulet, and magic object in and of themselves. Many spells include thier use, particularily home, hearth, and family spells. Usually spells of protection, related to keeping things in order. "New broom, sweep clean; sweep out sorrow" and burning a candle on the end of a broomstick while making sweeping motions. Always sweeping to the door, and never back into the house. That sort of thing.
That, and the sexual references, are some of the reasons why some of us jump over a broomstick in a marriage ceremony. I didn't elect to do that. I had a three foot train on my gown.

To keep evil energy away.
A broom, to a witch, is called a 'besom' and is used to 'sweep away' dark or negative energy.

yes we use them for a quick get away!
im kidding! we use them to sweep out negative energy and keep it away. we often call them 'besoms' and i usually use a broom and do a ritual sweep before i cast any magick just to cleanse all the negative energies around.
good question though.

why dont witches wear underwear?
so they can get a better grip on the broom.
they keep the broom by the front door just like you park your car in the driveway.

Wow! again with the punctuation. you fairly have replaced. And utilising "the" in all places. enable's see how this is going. The poem is impressive sufficient, newborn-like and easy to attraction to close. No subtext or between the strains messaging. no longer my fave out of your huge paintings. an effective poem for the children.

Actually we keep a broom at all times near every exit to our homes in case we need to make a quick get-a-way.
