Ok besides that I have asthma now and some other health issues. I have quit smoking last week,,,,,yes I am really happy about it and the best thing I ever did. However today is the 7th day and I started coughing (I always had a dry cough). I always felt that I had something to get out even at the end of my smoking time like when I cut back, and finally today. I coughed up some phlem with black streaks. Also I threw up my mucous (sorry so disgusting) but for all those ex smokers out there, did you ever experience this??? it was pretty scary to see this.

You should see a Doc. he may want to do a ct scan. Black streaks can be a sign of things like bronchitis, infections, inflammation, bacterial pnuemonia, or tumors. Please don't assume about your health. See a Doc.

I quit smoking over 15 years ago and remember coughing up that nasty black stuff. I believe it is your lungs cleaning themselves out. Trying to get rid of all the gross stuff that is in there. It will probably last a week or two. If it goes on longer than that I would contact your Doctor. Good Luck to you!!!!!! Smoking is Nasty!!!!

Drink water, green tea, juices and whole or 2% milk daily. Avoid caffine. EXERCISE.

Yes, you will hack up this stuff for the next few weeks. If you do the above, the hacking will get worse for a short while, but then after about 2 or 3 weeks, you should be hacking free for the rest of your life.

That's tar!!! Save it in a jar. It's very useful for patching roof leaks.
