Please don't hate me for saying this and I know it is always the first assumption but it usually the right one.
I would say you tested it is negative because you had a fertilized egg but it did not implant. That is my first thought, second thought though is to get yourself checked for a bacterial infection.
I missed my period in Oct.06 by 3 days tested, slight positive, bled...normal cycle. Nov. 06 Normal cycle. Dec no cycle, New Years day tested pregnant...5 wks miscarriage DUE to my doctor not doing a full exam when I came to him in Oct 06 and finding out I had a bacterial infection called PID! I would be pregnant now if it had gotten caught then.

Those are the two highest ranking answers...the only other one would be change of days on your cycle, as you know the months all have different amount of days in them about every 6 months I will go 3/4 days longer or shorter with my cycle. I hope for your sake it is just this, but just to be safe please make an appt with your GYN and ask them to do a paps for you!

Yes you could be. Just because a test hasn't picked up on any hcg hormones doesn't mean they're not there yet. Just wait a few more days and take another test or go see your doctor for a blood test.
