Because everyone can recognize that most white people have more pride than they can handle...they have an overdose of it, while Blacks and Gays are accustomed to hanging their heads in public and feeling perfectly inadequate.
Encourging pride among a people who have traditionally felt inadequate and inferior is quite different than encouraging pride in a people who are already too full of themselves. Over inflated egos don't need to be reminded to be proud of who they are as they come by that naturally.
Balance...its called balance.
