so, theres this guy that likes me and i think i like him to, but hes not exactly on my "level of status" - what my friends said. So they said that if i went out with him then i wouldnt be popular anymore. what should i do? thanks so much!

Is popularity all that important. I mean, why would your friends ditch you and make you (unpopular) if you liked someone that they didn't think was so cool? I think that you should just do whatever the heck you want to do ALL the time. People will respect the fact that you have a mind of your own......there is life outside of the popular circle and trust me, they won't still be there when you're out of school....I think that I talk to 3-4 of the people I hung out w/in school. The rest just weren't important enough.

He's probably a perfectly nice boy, but why go out with a status killer? If he's as nice as you think, he would be popular despite his lower social status. Since he's not popular, there is likely a very good reason. My mother, rest her soul, used to say that it's as easy to love a rich one as a poor one. My life would have been much easier had I taken her advice. Your call. But bear in mind, long after the boy is gone your social standing will be bearing the brunt of that relationship. Is he REALLY worth it?

If your friends won't be your friends cause you are going out with this guy then they are not your friends. they can either be jealous or dont want you to be happy. either or if you want to go ahead dont worry about what other people thnk. people want what is worse for you and best for them even if it means ruining your life they dont care. go and be happy or else you will regret it in the future. This life promises alot of things... but tomorrow is never guaranteed. Appreciate the people you have around while they're here... because they could be gone at any moment. Don't take this life for granted.

I think you should go out with him.If your friends are going to quite being your friends and kick you out of the popular crowd for that then they arent really your friends.Your real friends are the ones that will stick by you no matter what you do or who you date or who you fall in love with.And not being popular isnt all that bad...trust me.

Ok... This has never happened to me!!! What I would do is go up and ask him if he likes you... if he says yes then tell him you would like to have a secret date and that if you liked it and had fun you guys would be official... It doesn't matter what your friends think as long as you be your self everything will work out!!! Email me after you ask him and get the date!!!(if he likes you and you do do it!!)
