The answer for WWII.

Many Americans feared the presence of a German “Fifth Column” before World War II. In the case of the disorganized and poorly led American Bund, for the most part these fears ultimately proved unjustified.

The answer for WWI.

However, starting in the 1870s German-American relations gradually underwent a "great transformation," in the words of Manfred Jonas, from amity to hostility that culminated in World War I. Expanding industrial economies and newfound imperial ambitions drove this process. In 1879 a new German protective tariff, instituted in response to the 1873 depression, initiated a lengthy controversy about American agricultural products having access to the German market. Relations began to deteriorate seriously, however, only after William II ascended the throne in 1888. Germany's decision to build a large battleship fleet starting in 1897 gave rise to fears that it someday would try to challenge the Monroe Doctrine. Between 1898 and 1903 German activities in the Philippines and Venezuela nurtured such suspicions and alienated the American public. So too did the kaiser's occasional bellicose outbursts and inept attempts at personal diplomacy, which did little to further the German government's aspirations for American cooperation against its great naval and imperial rival Great Britain.

in case you watch the action picture "Memphis Bell" you will get a stable concept of what the air conflict became like. Very youthful men having to do some very impressive issues. As for the "what number inocent" question. a typical bombing raid on a German city would desire to degree in tens of 1000's of casualties. So I dare say that there have been lots of guys, women persons and young infants in those casualty figures. in spite of this, did Germany care approximately London or Coventry? Civilian casualties have been an instantaneous results of the lack of ability of surgical precision of the weopons getting used. Initailly Britain tried to assault militia objectives, yet casualty expenses vs the returns weren't conceivable. Attacking German infrastructure, marketplace, oil and transportation. Germany would desire to have great tanks and strategies, yet once you haven't any longer any oil to put in them and no rail/street community to get the autos to the place you prefer them.... Germany declared the 2d WW as a entire conflict. this suggests that all people became in touch and so have been their recourses. The allies took them at their be conscious. We have been extra acceptable at it. are not getting hung up on "Did we kill inocents." that's unlike photos of troops bayoneting infants. This became conflict. there have been complicated judgements to be made. the alternative does no longer have been quite, existence decrease than Germany. that's simply by those hard judgements and the sacrefices made via all, the two civilian and militia, which you will desire to declare a bloody great thank you to that era and not condem them on your morality, that's formed a severe high quality, snug 60 years after the form, with a feeling of protection and prosperity that those people died to be certain which you had. conflict is Hell, is a robust quote. So cope with it. success

Well not to offend Germans , but even today the older generations still refer them as "bunch O commie bastards" The majority of Germans ( as seen by American media) supported Hitler, and his ambitions , plus look how America views anyone we go up against .. I do not think there is too much sympathy toward the majority of people we are going up against ,and normally we do not consider them hero's when we are fighting them, Your answer is pretty obvious , (it just takes a little bit of thinking .)
