I have to write my own Modest Proposal tonight for my literature class. Based off of Jonathan Swift's Modest Proposal, a satire essay about solving Ireland's overpopulation and poverty issues by selling and eating babies. Please help, I need a problem, worldwide, country, or local problem and an outrageous but logically can work.

Umm...I'm glad you wrote your thesis on Swift, but how the hell does that help her in her quest? Stop showboating. Next thing, you'll be lecturing her about Edgeworth and absenteeism.

As for the question at hand, I'd deal with something hot topic like the war in Iraq or, if you're really looking for a nice correlation, go with Mexican immigration. I'm sure you could mine some nice parallels there.

Jonathan Swift's controversial work, "A Modest Proposal" (1729)

Swift was famous for his biting satire. This essay proposes that the Irish eat their children so they wont be a burden. He's making a drastic point about the Irish needing real help. It might help you understand if you look into some of the history between England and Ireland, particularly during Swift's time.

How to keep Republicans from breeding would be a good topic. The way to do it might be to have an auto company that designs vehicles by and for Republicans. Luxury cars at a huge discount to registered Republicans. The vehicles (unbeknownst to the buyers) would be equipped with radio isotope emitting safety belts that eventually sterilized them.
