i want to know can this be done in my driveway or what? what is the cheapest method yet sufficient one.

Have the truck media blasted using the glass beads, its more efficient than sand blasting and it will not over stress the metal, as soon as it is clean spray the unit immediately with a good epoxy primer then begin your body work for finish paint or you just get rust almost immediately.

I had to sandblast my 63 Ford F100. The paint was so old and hard that I literally wore out a D/A sander trying to remove it.

If your paint is not peeling, the best thing to do would be to sand it smooth and paint over it.

sand blasting can distort body metal due to heat, and metal thinning, it also gets into places you cannot remove it from, and sets up rust, so never sand blast. A quality paint remover is quite helpfull, also.

my husband sais sandblast is the best way to go
