Nope. I'm wealthy beyond anything I could have ever hoped for. I have a 28 year marriage, a great son, good friends, and for the most part good health. Monetary things mean very little when you look at the whole picture.

No, not anymore.

I used to collect comic books you see...right up until I was about 16 or so. But my mother, urrgh, she got herself in a drunken tizzy *again*, pissed off our landlord at the time, and we had to pull up roots and *move*.

Out to Califronia, though?? That was my first question. O_O

My second one was....do I have to bring *all* of my underwear, can I leave some behind so I can bring my *whole* comic collection? Of course, that one went over like a lead balloon...

I had to leave the *oldest* 3/4 of my collection behind, including:

--The actual *first print* of the issue where Gwen Stacy dies in Spider-Man (even now, worth a few hundred bucks).
--An *old* old Action Comics (Superman) from *1948*!
--And more than a few *last issues* of various Charlton Comics from the year DC bought them out.

And the truly sad part....that landlord was so angry and hateful towards my mother, my whole family...*he BURNED* the comics I had to leave behind. BASTARD.

Needless to say....I learned to not attach to material things after that. Granted, I should have seen it coming, as I also had a *piggybank* once that would be worth something today. Catch was, it was one of those deals...me and my older sister shared it, and the catch was, for every dollar we saved, our father promised to add one of his own, and for Christmas, we'd get that money to spend on gifts.

So you can imagine our shock when "dear old Dad" broke the thing wide open to *take* the money some six months in, saying "Well, it's all mine any damn way, *everything in MY house belongs TO ME*..." After which he broke a *yardstick* over our backs.

So yeah. I don't have anything of value now, pretty sure of it. I'm poor, I get it that the world thinks I am worthless, and that pretty much *anything* I get of value can be *taken* from me at any time *by anyone*.

I get it. -_-

Have a good one. And count your blessings.

I think about that all the time! Especially after we cleaned out my grea-aunt's house and found so many antiques. Some I have put in storage and plan to bring them to a dealer to have appraised. Some things we have in the house.
