Put an electric heating pad on your lower abdomen. That always helps my cramps, besides ibuprofen. Magnesium is also a muscle relaxer, so you could take some magnesium if you have any. You could also soak in a hot bath of epsom salts to help your muscles and body relax.

Taking a nice long warm bubble bath always helps me. Turn out the lights and put on some candles. Gets rid of stress and helps those cramps go away. Also I once read in Seventeen magazine that if you take a 20 minute jog or walk it'll help. It's hard to start out at first but it really helps. Take some Midol or Pamprin every 2 hours instead of the recommended 4 to 6. it helps a lot and isn't harmful to your body. Exercise too. You won't retain as much water and it'll take your mind off the cramps for a while.

Taking Midol takes away the pain, of course it takes a couple hours for it to set in, but it works. If it doesn't work for you, then you'll just have to deal with the pain or find some pain killer that works. There's a way when I lie down, and I think a certain way, and my pain goes away, but it comes back if I stop thinking that way. it's hard to explain.

the secret to using ibuprofen, mefenamic acid, or any other pain pill when having menstrual cramps is to use it BEFORE the pain begins. these pain medicines really don't really achieve their maximum efficiency once your pain is at a very high rate so don't wait for it to start. better to prevent it than waiting for it to stop agonizingly. a hot water bag really works well to. consider checking with a gynecologist since you might be having a condition known as POLYCYSTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME which causes these painful cramps. i had them, so i know what you're going through...

I'd take something like extra strength pamprin. Also when home use a heating pad. If it's still really bad I'd talk to my doctor.
