Yes there is verbal abuse, that's why the term "verbal abuse" exists...there's also physical abuse, and emotional abuse.
Verbal abuse is when someone constantly calls you names, curses you, says ugly and unkind things to you...it typically crosses over into emotional abuse as the person being abused usually feels hurt and ashamed or belittled and may start to feel worthless or believe the unkind things the abuser says about them.
There is no limit on how much it has to hurt...it doesn't have to hurt at all to still be abuse...if this is happening to you, put a stop to it...leave the situation or enlist help if you can. The person doing the abusing is sick and needs help.

As to physical abuse it doesn't have to hurt at all. If someone hits you just one time it is abuse. Yes, there is such a thing as verbal abuse.

Yes there is a such thing as verbal abuse. As far as how much it hurts - I definetly think that after a spanking is over, so should the pain. Do you think you're being abused or are you just trying to retaliate against your parents?. If you're an adult, move on. If you're a child, talk to someone - unless you're just upset because your parent (s) were correct in chastising you.

Mistreatment against you physically and emotional are abuse. There's no set standard on how much it hurts. The various abuses consist of: Physical, Emotional, Verbal, Psychological, Financial and Sexual. I have a feeling I know what you're getting at. Call a Domestic Violence Hotline and explain to them what's going on. They can do good things for you. I wish you luck.

Anything that hurts your feelings, hurts your sense of self-worth, hurts your body, or hurts your feeling of safety is abuse. Neglect is even a form of abuse. Of course there is verbal abuse just as there is emotional abuse, mental abuse and physical abuse.

Verbal abuse is very real and it should never be tolerated. Anything that makes you feel unloved or bad about yourself is abuse. Especially if it is coming from someone you consider a loved one. Whoever does this to you, get away from them fast.
