If you have already attached the DLink Router,
AND you have inserted the NIC Network Interface Card
next you need to run the Network Set Up Wizard.
Use TC/IP for your LAN, local area network, connection.
Have it "detect" you IPs automatically.

After you run the wizard to finish > restart your pc.
If it still does not recognize the new hardware
you need a fresh driver.

There should be a driver on the Installation CD
OR
you can go to DLink.com and download the latest driver from their site to your desktop >
then "install" the driver > double click and INSTALL
Restart your computer

Now your Operating System should see the router
AND the driver upon Restart; and it will automatically perform the "set up".

This will get you connected to the internet.

If you want to set up a home Network
both computers need to be joined to a same name WORKGROUP;
map each drive from the respective computer with a
different
Drive letter like Z and Y respectively.

Have a storage medium ready to insert to copy the Network Set Up settings, and then use that for setting up the network on the second computer.

First you have to get your computer to recognize that the card is plugged in, then go to network connections and check the status.
