Personally, I hate it. I have noticed that both signs on either side of Scorpio, like to be in the spotlight though (Libra and Saggitarius). What about you Scorpios out there? Also, Libras and Saggitarius?

Actually, Scorpio's shy away from being the center of attention. It's not in their nature. However, with all astrology there are exceptions. I would be more apt to say that if this particular Scorpio likes to be the center of attention, then they probably have a Leo Moon, Midheaven or Rising Sign. In conjunction with your Sun sign, the Rising, Midheaven and Moon signs affect your personality the most.
In Psychology there are 2 parts to a person's personality: Classical and Operant Conditioning. Classical Conditioning is what you believe as a person. Operant Conditioning, is what you learn from your parents. It could be more that this particular Scorpio has a parent that likes to be the center of attention, and therefore has passed that trait onto their child. Of course, I could be wrong though.
As far as Libra's go. They like the spotlight, but not as much as you think. They are more of a social butterfly and like to talk. It's because they have a very low attention span. They embrace change and like Gemini's or Aquarian's (the other air signs), are talkative.
Sagittarians on the other hand, are generally outspoken, and are often in the spotlight. This is due to their uncanny ability to speak the truth in a upfront, often brash, way. It's not a bad thing, they just never sugar coat anything. They too are social butterflies and like the company of many types of individuals.
Astrologially speaking, most people with fire signs (Sag, Aries and Leo), like the spotlight and to be the center of attention.

I'm a Scorpio, but I'm very shy and hate being in the spotlight. I actually have an anxiety disorder, and when I have to do oral presentations in front of a class or group I sometimes pass out! My sister is a Saggitarius, and she loves to be the center of attention. I don't know if it's because of our signs, but that's how it is.

My husband is Scorpio and he's shy. He has a very strong personality and a very quick temper and ready to give some of his poison. But he's reserved, mysterious and a little arrogant.
And my best friend is Scorpio also and she's almost the same way. They like to observe instead of being in the spotlight. Of course that could be the other way that you said, everything depends in which is their ascendant. For example, I am Pisces and my ascendant is Aries and I love confrontation, of course that I'm not a bully but if someone is looking for trouble they find me very quick. I'm not the average Pisces. They suppose to be shy, daydreamers and all that, but I am a exception to the rule.

I'm a Scorpio, and I'm am VERY shy. I can't even get a BF, because of how shy I am! And I hate getting my picture taken, so I'd be horrible in the spotlight!

Scorpio likes to do the behind the scenes work but hates being the center of attention and will be only if he or she has to be (but will try to refrain from it as long as they possibly can)

im a scorpio and I hate spotlight. when i was younger i enjoyed being the center of attention. now i'd rather hide

hey..Scorpios surely dont like hogging da spotlight..
they r quite uncomfortable wiz it..even though there r times wen they 'dont mind' doing it..
they love to do everything & if their name is not there in the acknowledgement list, they may go crazy..(",)..!
talkin about Librans & Sags..i've got lotsa frnz in those two signs..n man!..they practically love all the attention dat comes on them..!
