the word(s)? I said the whole thing, but this person is determined I didn't say it. Oh, I said it, very clearly, but she didn't hear it. I'm not about to repeat it when this person does this on a regular basis.

I tried taperecording her not listening to parts of what I say, but she refuses to listen to the tape. Hell, if she won't listen to me, wouldn't that be the same attitude for listening to us on tape?
My wordings are not too long, in the least.

To Daffodil, I always want to hear the truth, so I'm prepared for the bad and/or the good.
When I see something on television and want to share it with her, the 'Off' button is on high. I walked away and, for her, it's the "Oh, well," attitude.

Those who want to hear all of what I say to them cannot bring me down or feel crazy-ey than I already am. I wonder why they're rude is all.

start tape recording your conversations with her. Then the next time she says you didnt say that, you'll have proof. After a couple times of hearing the conversations, I bet her toon will change.

Because humans have a way of only hearing what they want. Isn't the mind
an amazing thing! When they hear something they don't want to, they analyze it and turn in into something acceptable. Often making much too much of a compromise to their liking. If this a woman/girl you speak of, you might as well accept that you will never 'figure them out' just as we women will 'never figure you out' .. If you don't want her around then say 'I don't want to see you anymore'. Then stop taking her calls, responding to emails, and such. Move on. It is when you give that little more attention to someone who is needy, they misinterpret as 'there's still a chance' ... Actions speak louder than words sometimes so move on ... be strong ... and good luck to you!

This is a power play. She is attempting to make you doubt yourself by making you think you are crazy. She is being manipulative, and hopefully you can get far far away from her. If you were a woman, this would be emotional abuse, but since you're not. I guess it's not.

Either way, get out of there. She has a large helping of "the crazy" and will only make you miserable in the end. Unless you're married with kids. Then you're just screwed.

I get where you're coming from, Heyjay. If it's really worth hearing it, take it to a more reliable source. But if this the one person you're addressing and the sellective hearing is turned off, all you can really do at this point is simply don't repeat it, of course, and possibly retreat from saying anything to this person.

We're here to listen (well, a few of us), so feel free.

They are in denial... especially if you want to break up with someone who's very much or rather obsessly in love with you or infatuated with you.

Or they have a denial syndrome which in which they reject everything that goes against their ideas... this is actually a very scarry person to be with...

The only way to get off is to show them that they're mistaken or that they're no longer loved... this might be painful but it's reality

There are a ton of ppl who don't half listen. I get better responses from my cellphone, "Can you hear me now?
How 'bout now? Can you hear me now?"
Ppl who don't give you the consideration carefully aren't worth the time.

An XLN't listener,
