Yes you SHOULD keep this dear friend! She was simply concerned about you & didn't know any other way to help you. Cutting yourself scares those who love you & no one really understands the cutting except you. Atleast TRY THIS, instead of cutting, wear a rubber band on your wrist at all times & when you get the urge to cut, snap the rubber band hard enough that it stings your wrist! When cutters can't voice/express their inner pain, they feel the need to "wear" their pain on the outside but noncutters can't relate to cutting, nor will they relate to stinging your wrist but it will be less scarey to those around you & just might help you to stop cutting! I urge you to please accept any help you can get! Good luck & best wishes for a happy upcoming Valentines Day!

Think about it from her perspective. A good friend who knows about you hurting yourself is going to worry about you. If she's the only one you have told, that's a lot of pressure. She may not have meant to tell on you, but she probably needed someone to talk to for her own sake, to help her figure out what to do. Teachers are what is called "mandatory reporters" - we are required by law to report it if we even THINK a student is hurting themselves or being hurt by someone else - and definitely have to report it if we are told by a friend of a student or by the student themselves that a student is being hurt. Your friend cares about you very much, or she wouldn't have been so worried that she needed to talk about it with her friend. She is probably very worried you will not be her friend any more. But honestly, do you want to reject a friend who cares about you so much? You can never have too many good friends.

And please, look into getting some help to feel better so you can work on not cutting any more. Your parents will probably want you to get counseling. Try to get past being so mad about them finding out, and take the help. The counselor should not tell your parents anything you say, so it will be a safe place for you, and only the counselor will know what you say.

Good luck and don't give up.

yes. Years later you will value this friendship more than any other you had in high school. I was in an abusive relationship in high school and a friend of mine went to the councilor and had them contact my parents. Now years later I realize how important that friendship was. That is a true friend.

Yes! That's what a friend is .She helping you out and standing beside you.We all need friends there to help us.Thank god for a friend like that she trying to save YOUR Life.
Sweetie you need help, you need friends and family around you and someone you trust to help you.
Its not right to hurt yourself or make your self for life.I know your hurting inside now but you need to find school teacher or a adult that you can trust to help you find out why you want to hurt your self. Not all adults are bad. Some a pretty kool to talk to.

I understand what u are going through. So put yourself in her spot.Say u had a good friend and u could see that she was in alot of pain so she was hurting herself by cutting.Would u let her stay in pain and let her cut herself or would u try to find help for her? I see that she has taken a chance of losing your friendship in order to get u help. How do u see it?

I think you should still be friends with her because you might be thankful for it later. You might not appreiciate what she did now, but later you can see that it was best. You may never know what bad things could happen if she never told

yes you should!!! can't you tell she cares about you?? you apparently have a CUTTING PROBLEM which ISN'T a healthy or good thing to do!! i think she worries about you. it's kind of like u weren't eating because you thought u where fat. she probably would have done the same thing. she probably cares about what's best for you. i think that's a really good friend.
