I have music from my friend's band saved to Limewire and windows media player on my computer. Is there a way to transfer that to my ipod mini too?

yeah, you should be able to just drag the individual music files straight into a play list on your itunes program. If you put in a CD it should show up in iTunes automatically and then you can just drag the tracks to your ipod.

Yeah, when you put in a CD bring up iTunes and it should show you the track and songs. At the bottem it should say restore or sync. You click on that and it should upload the music onto your iPod automaticly.

using windows media player, you can "rip" music from a CD by clicking the "rip" tab, selecting the songs that you want to put onto your hard drive. then click "Rip music from CD" to put them into iTunes and onto your iPod, you need to have the songs converted into another format, not .WMA (Windows Media Audio). iTunes does this automatically when you import a song from your hard drive. to do this, select Import Music under the file menu. select a playlist that you want the songs to go under, then import the songs from the CD. from there you can put the songs onto your ipod by just highlighting them and moving them to your iPod icon within iTunes. hope it helps...
