The only 'natural' contraception is abstinence. Even 'planning it', you could get pregnant.
Hormone contraception is the most common, and when used with a condom is 99% effective and provides protection from STDs. If you want total control over your fertility, go with hormone contraception: It doesn't have to be the pill, it can also be Depo (one shot ever 12 weeks). Hormone contraception can also let you be a little more spontaneous. Condoms are always a good, inexpensive method of contraception if you have limited access to Planned Parenthood (I know some states have banned the program) or health care. In both cases, look into investing in a spermicidal lubricant.

I do not know how old you are but protection is always wise unless you want a pregnancy. If you have a open relationship with your parents, they would be your primary source. You can speak to your counselor at school, the nurse at school or a physician. Planned parenthood is also a good source of information. Birth control pills are only good if you use them every day as prescribed but do not provide protection against STD. Condoms are good if you use them everything time you intercourse and know how to put them on properly. There are many times of contraceptives such as shots, rings, diaphrams, patches. The only sure thing to prevent pregnancy is not to have sex.

Use birth control pills for sure. Every girl should be on them all the time, and you should be fined/jailed if you don't take them and get pregnant without some sort of a permit. This would prevent people from having kids to get more welfare money.

I am a HUGE fan of birth control pills. It is kind of a pain to have to take them at the same time every day. But I leave my pack on the kitchen table and I remember to take them every night with dinner.
They make your period SO predictable......you figured it out for a year if you want to........makes it easy to plan vacations, etc. And if you really want to (and if you have enough pills to last the year) you can skip a period by not taking the blank row.
I have been on the pill since I was 22. We stopped for 2 months to let me body regulate, then we started trying to get pregnant. Had NO trouble conceiving. My doc put me back on the pill immediately. she wrote out the prescription at a prenatal appointment with directions to take them the 3rd Sunday after delivery. I have been on the pill ever since and my baby is almost 1.
When we decide for baby #2, I will go back off for 2 months to get regulated on my own again.....then let the games begin.
There is something unnatural about marriage and condoms. We had to use them for awhile because I was on an anti-biotic and that can make the pill not effective. we hated it......
So my vote would be birth control pills. Don't rely on the "rhythm method" to prevent getting pregnant.......it is very VERY hard to make it work.
take care.......

Contraception should be used any time you want to have sex without making a baby. The kind of contraception you use is a very personal choice. Your gyn or clinic nurse is specially trained to discuss all your contraceptive options. I suggest you go gather the info you need asap.

If you don't want to be pregnant you should use something.
I used the pill before I had my son. Then I was off it for about a year when we finally got pregnant. Now I had a Mirena IUD insterted and it's good for 5 years, and VERY effective.

It is really important. This should be your mantra (particularly if you are not married): "There will be no love without a glove." Hence you already know where I stand on this one - condoms. This not only helps prevent pregnancy but spreading of STD's as well.

i think obviously
- abstinenced is best but after a certain age if your not married yet:
condom is next best because no chemistry involved.
The pill is scary because it screws around with the woman's body chemistry. Same with IUDs etc.
