If the government really want's seperation of church and state then I'd like to have my trash picked up and mail delivered on Good Friday, Thanksgiving and Christmas. If they want to keep them totally seperate why am I paying for thousands of federal, state and local government employees to take these days off?

Yes I agree 100%. Even though I am a Christian and some times get upset that... say... our public school, in our largely Christian community, must have a "winter festival" rather than a Christmas program there is no way that I would want to live in a theocracy. God and Government are generally not a good mix. One of the purposes of government is to keep a persons behavior inbound, ( don't steal, murder, abuse children, etc.) and if you look around today this is good. To have some theocrat, however, that feels that they have a moral imperative to impose their code of conduct on a nation could lead to unrest or a Taliban like state of affairs where the government will do your thinking for you thank you very much. God is good, church and state as one...not so much.

that is troublesome to attraction to close basically how a lot my non secular perspectives have affected my political beliefs because I base my vote on dissimilar issues, a number of it is my moral perspectives which have for sure been inspired through my non secular perspectives. I vote more beneficial on monetary/nationwide protection subject matters than moral subject matters, besides the undeniable fact that yet even then, my non secular perspectives very a lot makes a speciality of the concept of being self sufficient and that service must be a personal issue and not in any respect compelled through others, like in gvt funded welfare. i'd have a very very troublesome time vote casting for a prochoice candidate basically because i fairly fairly hate abortion, yet abortion isnt a non secular issue. Homosexuality is amazingly very low on my voter priority record. I dont imagine maximum politicians are hostile to stem cellular learn. the problem is the way you get the stem cells, no longer the learn itself. universal economics and protection rank higher for me than social subject matters, yet social subject matters do play an element, esp once you've 2 applicants that are highly close on the different subject matters. How a lot is inspired rapidly through faith, I dont understand. I dont understand what type of individual i'd be had I been raised in a unique way.

I agree. We must keep our separation of church and state, but I wouldnt vote for religious reasons, and yet, I wont vote for a non cultural religious person either. I wouldnt vote for one, but would against one.
If they play the religion card, I hope the people that believe are really watching this person. Obama is trying it right now. Says hes a Christian, yet was once an islamic, now, he is an islamic infidel ??
Ugh. I will not vote for him. Not that our votes count in usa anyways, electorals do the voting, even if he were to win popular vote, he better have electorals support.

An excellent statement. Our government-guided media places the blame of problems in the Middle East, due to no separation of Church (Mosque, Synagogue) and State.
However, Bush's Evangilical agenda is the center of his foreign and domestic policies.
Basically, our government is a hypocrite for condemning other religion-influensed governments.

Absolutely! They should be very very apart. Look what happens in countries where religion IS politics... like the middle east for example!
