Nikita Khrushchev, saved all our butts by renouncing to install soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba. Otherwise their would have been a nuclear war between the USA and the USSR. Nobody wins a nuclear war...
Otherwise there's Terry fox that ran almost all of Canada with a single leg to draw attention toward cancer. A fine lad.

Well, our grand fathers used to gather together(in mourning) wherever was raised that a person died old or young, where one was celebrating there was a spirit of oneness so that everyone around rejoiced for good causes.
