I'm 13 and I'm going to the doc tomorrow. The last time I went he pulled my pants and undies and examed down there. I'm scared that I will have to do that tomorrow. What do you think? If you want you can give your email address so I can email you if you really don't want to post.

First, no doctor should not be pulling down your pants to examine you. You should be asked to remove them for that exam, and there should always be a third party in the room for both breast and pelvic exams. That's to protect both you and your doctor.

Pelvic exams are a necessary part of a woman's life. In fact, pelvic exams can save your life. Don't ever, EVER skip them.

I go for a LOT of physicals. And guys have some physicals that are very embarrising, very uncomfortable. We are not free of moments of embarrisment. It happens to everyone. But still I go, and go:

For one reason; IF they find something wrong, it is easy to fix when it is a SMALL PROBLEM.

If I did not go for physicals, and something goes wrong, it can grow into a BIG PROBLEM, perhaps so big, no one can fix it!!
And THAT would be worse than the embarrassment of even 1,000 physicals.

So go and remember; you are having a physical to PROTECT your health. The most important thing you will ever have in your life; your health. Doctors become doctors to help people. Let your doctor help you. If you are uncomfortable, ask him to explain WHY you need a physical. He will be informative and kind.

Good luck with tomorrow.

hello,

why don't you choose a lady physician. If you have no choice but to go to this doctor, why don't you inform your mom? Any mother would protect her child and would definitely look for the best alternative for you. tell her right now before it's too late.

If you do not want this examination done, you should ask your mom, or a nurse, if it is necessary. If it is necessary then try to relax and make sure someone else is in the room!

was ur mom in the room, why was he examining you? tell your paretns if you are concerned. if the doc is not a gynocologist there is no reason for him to examine "down there" unless u tell him something is wrong down there

well its perfectually normal to be scared but thats what doctors do. The best advice i can give you is try to take deep breaths and youll be fine.

WOW! are you serious..! Ok what you have to do is you have to tell your mom that you do not want thsi to happen to you again..but if you have to..just keep on breathing and breathing..and keep on thinking of something like school or thinking of something that you like..or talk to him..or just talk to yourself..do not think of what he is doing just close your eyes and think and breathe...sorry about the docor..GOOD LUCK!
