Who were some of the women who fought to stop slavery and fought for the freedom of others?

Harriet Tubman was an important part of the Underground Railway and helped many slaves to physically escape. Making journed after journey with them There is courage and integrity and selflessness. Mary Ann Shadd Cary first black woman to start a newspaper in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, which spoke out against the cruelty of slavery and helped newly freed or escaped people to find homes in Canada. Soujourner Truth who spoke out in speeches and empowered women of all races. She worked tireless to helped the newly freed reestablish themselves. Lucretia Mott Coffin, white , quaker woman, who campaigned against the institution of slavery and risked the wrath of a patriarchal society by fighting for equality. Harriet Jacobs whose book, "Memoirs of a Slave Woman", brought to life the atrocities that were being perpetrated agains the people of colour and the ramifications that it had in a negative way socially on all who were involve. She told her story and shared with the world the horror that accompanied being owned by another and the pain that she and her family endured. Hope this helps.
