For homework, I am to constuct a dichotomous key on 6 birds to enable visitors to identify them. Can someone please help me with this. I know how to create a dichotomous key, though I'm having trouble classifying them. Whoever would like to help me with the question, I can email you with the scanned copy of the sheet.

Focus on some simple yet distiguishing general characteristics of the birds:
type of feet
type of bill
shape of wing
crest
banding and/or other colouring
size

What I like doing is that my first question basically splits the group of in half (more or less) and continue split them in half until there are two or three in a group.

So for birds, I would start with something like
1) Has webbed feet: go to (2)
Does not have webbed feet: go to (6)
2) Has a large pouch under the beak go to ....
Does not have a large pouch under the beak.

etc.

Have fun! (It's like a puzzle!)
