You're very right. it is wrong and it's very very rude. It would be the same as if they called us (forgive me please) queer or something else, especially since they said it with venom. They had no right to insult people and should be ashamed of themselves for doing it.
They do it because they feel like they *can* do it, just as a Bible-thumper feels they *can* preach about hell-fire and brimstone even though the audience would far rather hear about the Love of the divine.
I personally prescribe to the art of being kind to people and treating them as I would like to be treated (recently in this world it's been a novel concept) but you catch more with a smile than a frown. Perhaps the next time you hear it, you might consider reprimanding them for it and asking them to consider being kind or you could just lead by example. Bless you though.

What would you label yourself as if you did not have a label? How would your refer yourself on a job application or other important papers if not for the title of Male or Female. You could always refer to the title Female first then Male second if it bothers you. There are women in the US that have higher ranking positions than men. By the way it seems to me that we are all united if we want to be and labels are a means to identify. Every one has their own opinion! If I'm human no one is going to tell me different.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. If Yahoo placed this question in the wrong section and you didn't want it there just ask them to move it. MarieV

Maybe it's the Irish B**** in me, but after the religious right threw the first stone all bets were off. I direct my hate to those worthy of it though. As for calling people a breeder, I do it out of fun and not hate. Also, please don't stereotype. I'm surprised to read this from someone that probably works with a diverse clientèle.

It's no different than being called the F word. The term "breeder" is rarely used when "we" are spoken to with respect. You get what you give. We can and will be nasty right back at you.

I usually don't call you Breeders...I call you "Too Damned Stupid to Spell....Even With Spell Check".
Nothing personal of course.

Just a response for many who call the LGBT members nasty names. Not that it is right, but that is why it is done.

Its just easier to lump them all together, instead of keep saying, "oh, he (she) is straight", we just say, "they're breeders" it just cuts to the chase, i.e., forget it, their straight. I have NEVER meant it rude, just factual.
