Candle holders are the most common. Use a metal candle holder inside purchased in crafts stores (usually in the small wood section - cheap). These will keep the piece looking of quality and secure the candles. Also look for no drip candles to protect your pieces.

People also use them as pedestals in decorating, by setting small objects of interest on top.

You can also use them the same as you would a rod for curtains, by hanging old textiles, or works of fiber arts.

If you have any old laces or such you can also wrap them with these, just for interest, sitting around.

You can use two as top and bottom for a loom and make a wall hanging. You can make candle holders out of them, by wrapping with aluminum foil at one end to form a cup that holds the candle.

Edit: I thought of another one. Tie, sew, or glue them together in the shape of a triangle. Then glue a photo to a backing and glue to the triangle, using it as a frame.
