Bataan Death March, April 12 1942. over 80 miles of horrible terrain.. the Japanese marched prisoners From the day of surrender on Luzon I believe on, the POWs would be harshly beaten and killed for slightest or no reason at all. Officer status provided no protection. First troops were searched. Any prisoner found with Japanese souvenirs was executed immediately Their own personal property was usually stolen as well.
You and your group began the march on April 12, 1942?
Yes. We began walking the next morning. It was about eighty miles from where we started to where we ended up. It doesn't seem very far, but we were in such awful condition that eighty miles was a heck of a long way to walk. It took six days to get to San Fernando. There, the march ended and we got on board a train. But in that six days, a lot happened.
Along the way the prisoners saw things such as a Filipino man who had been beheaded. His body lay on the ground with blood everywhere and his head a short distance away. Also, a dead Filipino woman her legs spread apart and her dress pulled up over her. She obviously had been raped and there was a bamboo stake in her private area. Just a few of the monstrous actions the Japanese Soldiers committed against innocent civilians.
Is it any wonder the Japanese refused to admit to their own people for over 60 years that THEY begin World War II in the Pacific and against China and the Phillipines. I still do not trust and never will trust the Japanese, because they will never admit their part of these atrocities. My family sent 7 members to WWII in the Pacific and 2 to Europe. None have been willing to discuss what they saw during the last awful days of WWII

The Bataan Death March (aka The Death March of Bataan) was a war crime involving the forcible transfer of prisoners of war, with wide-ranging abuse and high fatalities, by Japanese forces in the Philippines, in 1942, after the three-month Battle of Bataan, which was part of the Battle of the Philippines (1941-42), during World War II. In Japanese, it is known as Batān Shi no Kōshin, with the same meaning. 10,000 of the 75,000 POWs died.
The March" was a death march during the final months of the Second World War in Europe. About 30,000 Allied PoWs were force-marched westward across Poland and Germany in appalling winter conditions, lasting about four months from January to April 1945. It has been called various names: "The Great March West", "The Long March", "The Long Walk", "The Long Trek", "The Black March", "The Bread March", but most survivors just called it "The March". It has also been called "The Lamsdorf Death March", and it came very close to the Bataan Death March in percentage

I think you may mean the Bataan Death March, in which 10,000 Allied prisoners died of typhus, dysentary, starvation and other diseases before reaching their captors' destination.

No, believing the Nazis were in besides acceptable or wondering they were cool or beautiful may deem you a Nazi. once you've a authentic pastime in that element of heritage devoid of subscribing to any of its beliefs it quite is psychological interest. an exceptionally good many human beings may discover an pastime in Nazi memorabilia disrespectful and insulting to the Jewish race so it should be unwise to get prepared about any Nazi stuff publicly.
