I agree with some1 else that it's far too diverse to explain it all here, but i can share these briefly:

Adverstising is promoting a product to a mass audience through diverse media channels; newspapers, magazines, radio, television programs, trade journals, web sites, etc..

Effective tips;
1)Define your customer profile (age,gender,socio-economic status etc)

2) Identify their needs and wants to help you sort out which media appeals to which sub-group. Eg; teenagers like teen mags and MTV??
3)Refine your message to appeal to their best interests and taste based on their profile and needs. Eg; teens would use a product their popstar represents in an ad?? Your message SHOULD also answer : “who” you are, “what” you do, and “why” and sale contact details.

4)Defining "Reach" (while avoiding "Waste")
For example, if your product is a toothpaste brand which is used by far everyone, try with newspapers or tv because their “reach” is often defined by their total circulation or viewers which is usually an enormous size. Since this media charge higher rate for ads ,the cost of advertising a female's product here is wasted on a huge portion of unwanted audience like males, so choose wisely whether another channel might be the best option.

8). Increasing the IMPACT of Your Ads to influence your audience. Dominate the eye with larger ads, and have more room for persuasive text & graphics.Don't talk about your prospects,but talk about the benefits the product will bring ''them".
Create urgency to stimulate buying interest, by including special offer schemes to persuade immedate buying rather than later!

Hope this will be interesting for you.

Advertising is like holding a sign that said "Look at me, I offer this service!" Without it, no one will know about your business. You should advertise according to your needs and clients base, for example: if you offer a good or service for the mid to lower income clients, try local new paper or flyer. Offer coupons or reward for your client. If your goods or service are more upscale, go into magazine, tv, direct mailing etc... If your clients might not be local, use the Internet. Talk to a professional and research on the Internet. And keep track of your forms of advertising and ask your clients where they found you. That way you will know what work and what doesn't.

Writing a classified ad to sell your product isn't as hard as you might think, if you spend time researching effective copy writing strategies.
