I have received very few, (like maybe 3 out of almost 2900 answers) but I got one the other day for telling some nutjob conspiracy theorist to adjust his tinfoil hat and turn up the frequency. Not because of the content, but because the reporting person claimed it was not a question or an answer. But that was the best and most valid answer I could give to make my point! LOL!

It doesn't annoy me much; all it means is that some geek has waaaaaaaaay too much time on his or her hands and needs a life.The part that does annoy me a little is that Yahoo accepts the word of someone who reports without question, even if the intent of the reported passage is questionable, and even if the reporters motives are, as well.

I got one for calling someone dense when he asked the same question I had answered for him 5 minutes earlier. The next day I got a best answer for the first time he asked the question. Go figure.

Yes it does!!!! I got SO many that I had to start a new account!!!!And most of the violations that I got where for dumb reasons!!!!

ive got about 4. i know that i was gonna get one for an answer i gave, but the other times where not bad at all so thats what annoyed me, i got more points taken away when i did nothing wrong.

Only if it's from being reported by someone, randomly.... Yahoo doesn't recognize the difference between a honest report or a bogus one. I've gotten 2 that way....

If they are not warranted, yes they are annoying. I actually appealed one this week and got an answer from YA, apologizing and restoring my points. This must be a new feature.

I got one when I told someone to do their own homework. After I learned that was reportable, I started reporting everyone who I saw do the same thing!!! I'm over it.

nope i rarely get violations anymore, especially since I've stayed away from politics and government section.
