I can only think of a short list. I think the main thing I noticed is that if you don't live in Toronto, Edmonton or something like that, there are certain things that you just cannot get. Or if you can, they are going to be very expensive...

Buying electronics can be very expensive and can be a little behind the times depending on how far from "civilization" you get. Also, it is just plain hard to get some things like very specific software and some computer stuff. If you have to order from the US, the customs will kill you.

Mail is definitely slower than in the US. Expect it to take 10 days to two weeks if you are mailing from the east to west coast.

If you live anywhere far away from a major city your options for computers and the like will be even more limited.

Driving in Canada is expensive as gas costs more than in the US (generally speaking). I don't know why because Canada has the largest oil field in the world.

Canada has a relatively small and dispersed population in relationship to the US. This has both positive and negative aspects. There are less people to provide tax dollars for whatever might be needed.

Temperatures are subject to exremes in some places like Manitoba. Arctic winters, hot summers. But this is not necessarily specific only to Canada. Many countries share this characteristic.

Actually this is a pretty short list. It is true that income tax is pretty high but there are so many programs and health care for everyone that it is hard to really find many other so called "negative attributes".

Oh, and by the way.... I hate to say this but it is true about Canadians and kind of bad driving. Drivers' Ed wasn't mandatory until quite recently - like ten or 12 years I think. So, there was no standard for drivers to get their licenses...

You should ask the positive attributes because that would be an easier list.

That's it.

I can't think of any major ones... so here are some of my favourite ones...
we have socialized healthcare, climates for every taste ( unless you don't want different seasons and climates), we have beautiful urban areas and rural as well, we have Maple Syrop (you just can't find fault with that), I used to think the GST was a bad thing but the added tax has really helped the economy strengthen, we have an excellent grasp of the English language and it is our official first language ( whereas America hasn't got one), I believe we are nice because we have extremes in climate (depening on province and season) and you never know when you will get stuck in the snow or over heat and you may need someone to help you out ( and someone always does, without being asked)
so no, no bad attributes

Arctic cold that we get from them as a 'gift' to the lower Great Lakes region every winter. And two taxes on goods and services: the GST and the PST. Oh, and they pay almost 30% more for books.

I'm a stones throw from Canada (Michigan border town) and can only say that Canadians are really, really crappy drivers. Other than that, they are great neighbors.

Large border w. America, too much chance of invasion when it gets really hot or they get attacked en masse.
