I have a worksheet for an upcoming evaluation at work, and there is a question that asks how I have changed my job classification for the better. What would be a good way to answer that?

Think back. Is there any special project, task, or training that you did? Any certificates you got (even if they're just something like "Most Popular Copier Reloader")? Anything no matter how small - and reference that. It shows you took on more than just what you were asssigned. If you didn't do anything like that, for heaven's sake don't be so honest that you say "Nothing." It looks at best passive and at worst lazy. Instead say something like you were trying to master the job thoroughly, trying to improve your process, or you were focused on increasing your productivity. (And don't panic if they say "And in what way?" Just be creative and try not to say too much.)

Is it your place to "change" your job classification? I thought that was the job of HR and Management?

I would reply that you have done everything possible to perform your job in such a way that would reflect positively on your immedite supervisor, department, group, or whatever it is where you work.

There isn't a lot you can say unless you were charged with the responsibility to "change" your job classification.
