Obsessions can be life consuming and can even draw a human into chaos or death. Have you ever had one and found a way to kick it out of your life or are you still struggling?; or is it that you haven't even realized that you have one?.

Hmm I have an obsession with counting things. It doesnt really disrupt my life as I do it yet no one knows.
I am pretty good about doing it even while having a conversation.
A few times I have been busted. One time I was counting the napkins at a table at a bar and the guy I was with grilled me as why I was counting the "damn napkins" I simply told him obviously he was so boring that Id rather count napkins. I wasnt about to tell him "well you see I have this thing for counting"

Yeah, I have had a few. How did I get rid of them, or how am I slowly getting rid of them? I trust in God, and that things happen for a reason, if I don't concur my obsession, it is because it is/was not mean to be. And, I've become pretty good at blocking out things/and people as well. How do I do this? I try to find positives in my life instead of negative, and I get over the fact that, it can't be mine. I block; block things out and before you know it-I laugh at the issue, because I am so good at blocking it, I have come to terms to not give a damn any more. No need to suffer, because we only live once, and eventually the person; place or thing we are obsessed won't matter when we are dead, buried six feet under. What will matter is the type of person and life we lived.

Ya...I have a big obsession at the moment, and currently I'm enjoying it, not ready to let it go. I missed out on allot in l life, because I was trying to be this PERFECT person to people I found out weren't even worth the air I breath. I recently made contact with an old friend, now I'm obsessed with doing certain things I've only dreamed of. Dark things. Well...Hell...you only live once. ;)

Yes, I had an obsession, I had to live in choas at all times. I felt bored and otherwise, if i wasn't being pulled in a million direstions at once. I would go from sun up till sun down, creating choas and cleaning it up. My current bf pointed it out to me. Thing he was nuts I went to a counsler, and after a few eeks she said the same thing. I had groen up in total coas and had carried that over, putting my kids through the same thing. Life without choas to me meant boredom and no self worth, cause I had nothing to "fix".
After about 2 years i can say I have learned thats its ok not to want to rip your head off everyday and go full force, you can stop and rest..stop and smell the roses. I wish i had known it sooner...the time wasted so to speak is time I can never get again.
Looking back I realize that if there was no choas I would create it, because living with out it made me feel empty, and know I know the truth. I wasn't empty, it was a distraction for what really needed worked on and that was me.
Its still a struggle, but, its one day at a time.

everyone has an obsession to one degree or not...and yes, it can lead to very bad things, my ex-husband was obsessed with me, and it came to the point that if he couldn't have me, noone could, and he tried several times to kill me..I'm deaf now, but, I feel like it's how extreme you let it go...if you feel like it's to a point it's disrupting your life or someone eles, you need to get help, there are meds out there that can help with this...otherwise, if it's just a little obsession, sometimes it can be good...
